Dreams, while lying in the darkness
Are filled with ancient light
Facing down tomorrow
While fighting back the fright
We're only here for precious seconds
And then we're gone from sight
We spend our lives running, denying
The dying of the light

In a marathon across the ages
Laughing as the fire rages
Burning like a flame against the dying of the light
Driving as the thunder crashes
Rising from the smoke and ashes
We stand in sillouette against the dying of the light

Life, it takes a sense of balance
It's a matter of give and take
We light the fire together
And share the love we make
Before we met I had a vision
A star that burned so bright
We saw, we touched, then ran forever
From the dying of the light
